This recipe is a favourite of my labrador, he will do anything for fish, especially tuna!
Fishy Feast Recipe
- 75g of pearled barley
- 2 potatoes
- 2 carrots
- a handful of green beans
- can of salmon (about 200g)
- can of tuna (about 200g)
- three white fish fillets (between 200g-250g)
- 2 eggs
- walnut oil
- multivitamin/supplement of your choice
- To start i rise and soak the pearled barley for at least a couple of hours but preferably over night.
- Then prepare everything, cut the veg, potatoes and fish finely, hard boil the eggs, then grind the shells (for calcium) and chop the egg.
- Start to cook the barley as the packet instructs and throw in the potatoes (remember its good to over cook grains and carbs as it makes it easier to digest). I also add a couple of teaspoons of walnut oil here.
- With about five minutes cooking time left for the barley add the veg and fish.
- Once all cooked add the egg and shells and your multivitamins, allow to cool and hey presto, doggie dinner!
Depending on your pups size you may want to freeze anything that isn't going to be eaten in a couple of days. This recipe can be doubled (halved or quadrupled) for multidog households and/or large dogs.
